Why We Built This Site
Georgia gives the public broad access to court records, but figuring out which office holds the file you want is the hard part. In Cherokee County the Clerk of Courts handles Superior Court civil, felony, and family case files. The Probate Court runs estates, marriage licenses, and weapons carry permits. The Sheriff's Office manages the jail roster and works active warrants. State agencies like the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia Department of Public Safety also hold pieces of the picture. We map those pieces to one place.
Most of Cherokee County's court business runs out of the Frank C. Mills III Justice Center at 90 North Street, Canton, GA 30114. That single building houses Superior Court, State Court, Magistrate Court, Juvenile Court, Probate Court, the District Attorney's office, and the Court Administrator. The Sheriff's Office and the Adult Detention Center sit a short drive away at 498 Chattin Drive. Knowing which suite to visit, or which phone line to dial, makes the difference between a quick errand and a wasted afternoon.

The Offices We Aggregate
Cherokee County sits in the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit, which also covers Fannin, Gilmer, and Pickens counties. The site brings together the official sources that handle records inside the county, including:
- Clerk of Courts (Patty Baker) for Superior Court and State Court civil and criminal case files
- Probate Court (Judge Keith Wood) for estates, marriage licenses, and weapons carry permits
- Sheriff's Office (Sheriff Frank Reynolds) for the jail roster, warrants, and sex offender registry
- District Attorney (Susan K. Treadaway) for felony prosecutions and victim services
- Court Administrator for Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit scheduling and calendars
Every page on the site points back to the office that actually keeps the record. We do not host the records ourselves, and we do not duplicate the official databases. We just help you find the door.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to the Cherokee County Clerk of Courts, the Probate Court, the Sheriff's Office, the District Attorney, the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit, the Georgia Supreme Court, or any other state or federal agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what shows up in their results.
Keeping Information Current
Clerk offices move. Hours change. Phone numbers get reassigned. We update pages as we hear about changes, but gaps happen. Before you drive to the Justice Center on North Street or send a payment to the Clerk of Courts, call ahead first.
